Alexis had been writing a play for Angelic Tales about how his life had entwined with Madonna's when he had a mid-stream epiphany: he dumped his play and started to write a new play about the life of a feisty transexual. It started as monologue, but the offstage characters were so vivid, they cried out to be onstage.  So they started to make cameos. Alexis dug deeper, the cameos got bigger - and suddenly it was a fully-fledged three-person play.,

After the play's first, hugely successful outing at Theatre Royal Stratford East, we were invited to present another staged reading of 'slap' at the Channel 4 headquarters in Pimlico where Channel 4 created a customised performance space for their first-ever live theatre event.  Tean Angelica members mingled with Channel 4 staff and industry insiders as the wine flowed. Gok Wan hosted the post-performance Q&A with his customary grace and generosity of spirit.  The crowd was wowed and the play, several rewrites further along, took a giant leap forward.  Writer/Actor Alexis Gregory led his brilliant cast with a calm sense of authority and stunning comic timing. A night to remember.
